  • just some line ups

Hey everyone its been a while since ive been on here! well just thought id update everyone i been hard practising lately down at a club called fairview which is where Danny Douane and Alfie burden used to play, i been hard at work practising for quite a few hours a day and it seems to be paying off.

I been practising by playing in the EASB junior regionals aswell so ive had a lot of practise going on and starting coaching with patsy fagan next week. ive made quite a lot of centuries on line ups now but still cant seem to get one on camera ive got a 60-70 on camera but thats it. i am currently practising on a rileys aristocrat old tv standard table so its a lot more difficult compared to my old club but still very enjoyable and ive learnt tons about the game.

heres a video of me playing nowadays

i can usually knock in a ton on line ups but it seems so much more difficult when the camera is on but yeah ill try and get a century up soon

    malachi:

I watched your short video and note the following points. Nothing too major but each one might help you get the cueball control you are lacking (at least in this line-up.

    1. Minor head movement on the backswing and delivery. Keep your chin on the cue.
    2. Very fast backswing, almost no rear pause and then a quicker delivery. Slow everything down just a bit, especially on the backswing.
    3. On shots below medium pace you are not driving the grip hand into the chest and therefore not completing the delivery consistently on every shot as you should.
    4. Although your grip is loose, it appears to be a little too far into your palm. Move the butt a touch towards the tip of your forefinger and give yourself a little more wrist cock.
    5. The cue is a little too close to your left hip. Swing your hips another inch or two towards the right by bending the right leg a touch more so it feels natural.
    6. Keep your riight arm as straight as you can to the point just before you cause discomfort. This should drop your right armpit a bit and also rfaise the left shoulder up more behind the head.

Biggest points are stop the head movement and slow down the backswing.

    See what Patsy says though

thanks a lot terry! at the moment im trying to work on walking into the shot consistantly on every shot thats my main thing but i definatly think the head movement is the next thing i got to work on!

I got a video of me making a high 90 break on line ups before a kid barges in on my backswing for the century break but no excuses i should of potted it here are some more videos of me doing line ups

Looking good Mal, Just watched the first vid in your last post..You said your concentrating on walking into the shot more consistently. I don't think i seen you walk into any shot at all on that vid, no matter consistantly bud...

Not criticising you bud, your looking better now than earlier in the year fairplay...

thanks for the comments guys, well the hat is a bit of both i guess my hair gets in the way when im playing so the hat just keeps it away from my view and i am walking into a few shots maybe its the camera angle? but i wasnt working so much on walking into the shot during them videos as they are about a week old, i got some more videos coming up with my 90 in it.

i been working hard and i feel a lot more comfortable around the table and i think it shows i just got to get that century on camera!
