should it be very light contact? i tend to put unwanted weight on my cue especially if i have to play a slow cut.

I slide the cue on my chest during cueing. It gives more stability to the shot, especialy on the long straight shots.

This Answer will Differ alot as Long as you Feel Comfortable and Playing Well I wouldn't Change a Thing.

I wouldn't start Trying to put the Cue Touching your Chest if your not Already doing it, As you know or May Not Know Most People have Different Techniques Including: Different Stance,Different Cueing etc so its Not that Important that Cue Touches the Chest.

Look at Mark Selby Movement...Nobody would Recommend that but he Plays very well with it and it will never Change. He has tried to Stop it but he is Unable too.

I can't think of a pro-player that doesn't use his chest. Steve Davis is so tall that he uses his bow tie and chin only.

Anyone with an idea of a pro-player who doesnt use his chest?

.. wait a minute, so is ryan day, andrew higginson, .. maybe this site is bollocks?

                      I couldn't find a top 16 player over 6ft tho.

                            That's what I was thinking/wondering.

Just found some more information you might find interesting:
                            http://www.myspace.com/stevedavissnooker/blog/528246532
                            followed by:
                            http://www.myspace.com/stevedavissnooker/blog/528286698

It's actually easier to read them both from here:
                            http://www.myspace.com/stevedavissnooker/blog

Just scroll down and click "More" to get 'back' to the older posts, including these two.

I was experimenting with the back 3 fingers grip he mentions in one of them, and it certainly 'felt' more 'solid' especially when I lined up correctly and had all my contact points in line.

I'm 6'5" and I use my chest. Couldn't play without it, makes it so much more solid but as said before everyone is different and its how you feel comfortable that counts.
