Hey there, not sure if I'm allowed to start like a personal journal for the community to see. I want to track my progress and my thoughts on the game as I venture into this journey to become as great as I can be. As posted in introductions like most others I'm formally an 8 ball player, I regularly compete in many competitions and can hold my own against most players. The one thing I've always noticed is the quality of a snooker player, it's always the snooker players that seem to beat me in the final few play offs in the tournaments. Also after watching tonnes of videos of the professionals and seeing some great players in front of my eyes I decided to give it a shot myself. To me even making a 50 seems so far away but I'm determined to go as far as possible.
Today I went to the pool hall around 12pm and began practicing. I did some line up drills, basic color drills and then had a few printouts from a book called 'the snooker gym'. I had to hit the white ball from the string line and cut the black ball in using no side, it was hard! I think it took me an hour straight of trying to finally pot in 1 black. Snooker is tough!, I also worked on my stance and cueing action and making sure it's in proper form. I've decided to teach myself as much as I can before I go and get some professional coaching. Hopefully the more I play I can post about my sticking points and see what you guys can offer with feedback.
Peace! ^^
