  • Question: angle or stability?

    Hi peeps.

Is there any ways to see what kind of mistake we make on the table? I do not know whether am I aiming at a wrong angle or that my hand moved when shooting. This only apply to cut shot. Straight ball shot im rather fine. Because sometimes I feel that I'm aiming correctly, but it turn out its off but a little bit.

Videotape yourself or have a friend take a look at your cueing action. Better yet find a coach.

hi genesisdecoy, not sure what level you are playing at so i'll just share with you what i would do...

set up a shot that you keep missing. stand behind the cue ball, see the angle you want to hit, walk into the shot while keeping that angle in sight, get down on the shot, keep your head still, do your intial feathering, slow pull back and deliver the cue smoothly... head should be kept still at all times... STAY DOWN on your shot and see if the cue ball hits the object ball where you want it to hit...

repeat that a few times... if you manage to consistently hit the object ball where you want to and it does not pot, then you probably got the angle wrong...

it is important that you don't change your potting angle when you are already down on your shot... if you feel that you have sighted incorrectly, stand up and start over.

      good luck!!
