Terry, could you please give the dates when you are still available? I'm interested, but I live the other side of England so it's a bit of a commitment.
The only firm booking I have right now is for all day on Saturday 4/16, so I'm still open between April 14 to 24th. I realize for people living in the east or midlands it's quite a drive to the Gloucester area but I hope some of you can make it at least.
To have Nic Barrow come down he had to put in some traveling expenses from Milton Keynes too.
Hi Terry, I just had confirmation that I have a ne contract to start next week so I now know I will have the funds. I will look at the dates and let you know ASAP.
Apologies for hi-jacking your thread. I just thought I would add that we can offer nice, but most importantly affordable, accommodation in one of our Academy houses to anyone visiting for coaching who would prefer to make a weekend of it. It costs £25 per person for a bed for the night so it's great value for money. You would have full use of a kitchen and lounge as well as a room. Some rooms are twins and some are doubles so any men visiting may like to bring their partners with them for the weekend. Just a thought!
Also, if there was enough interest and it was feasible with fitting around Terry's coaching, we could look to put on a Pro Am on one of the Sunday's Terry is at the SWSA? That way, people could visit for coaching on the Saturday and stay for a Pro Am on the Sunday. Again, it's just a thought.
Great idea on a pro-am if we could make it happen, although as a lot of my students wouldn't be near pro skill level we would have to talk any of your pros into giving up 3 or 4 blacks to some of the players. (I don't mind playing off levels and prefer to do so as I get a truer picture of my skill level even though I may lose 3-0).
What do the rest of you prospective students think about a little tourney while you're in Gloucester? Maybe a tenner in the pot or even a twenty, I'm not sure what the usual is in Britain. Here I play in a 6-red handicap and the entry is about 12quid or so.

Terry
I'll be needing a 75 start.
One day I'll make a century, I've knocked in a 51!
Terry, i'd be interested in the pro-am tounrmanet as well, was thinking maybe i can go for a 4 hour coaching session or something, i know TMOF would be interested too, ive asked him and he seems keen so will let you know dates in the next few days
cheers!
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....

I can't make it up for both days unfortunately, only the Sat for coaching.

OK, I would suggest 9am start for 4 hours on the 20th of April. That way, if you wish you can book your own table for 1-5pm for 20pounds to get some solo practice on match quality tables.
Let me know if you can make it by 9am or would want a later start time.
Hmmm...those are mighty hefty starts you're asking for.
Of course, if you have a coaching session from me first then maybe you can give the pro a hefty start!!!
Luke...OK on yourself and TMOF but if you book the same day one of you will have to occupy yourselves for 4hrs while the other is getting his session. On the positive side, it's only 20pounds for 4hrs of solo practice between 9am-5pm so at 5pounds per hour that's a damned good deal I think for facilities like the Academy (which unfortunately are few and far between).
I'd certainly be up for making a weekend of things and playing a few frames proving I'm not trapsing across the countryside in search of protected species!

a couple of years back was getting 95 per frame start from Judd Trump
and still got beat on a best of 5 ( my best match break 70, so I am not a complete mug).
