Hi all,
Came across this wonderful forum, i m from "Singapore"
Snooker isn't exactly very popular or in the limelight here and cue brands are very limited here as well. mainly "O min" "Master cue" "players' choice" etc.
I have been playing for about 4 years now, but it's all messing around, through this 4 years, i haven't exactly know much about the tip of a cue, weight fernule etc. i've recently gotten a new cue and would very much like to take up snooker on a more serious approach. so here goes
1. Tip - what size of tip is usually used? i've heard mention fo 8-9mm, 2-5mm..it doesnt make sense to me.
2. Weight - how does the weight of a cue affect a cue. why is the centre important. is there a difference if the weight is more to the front or more to the back? is there a optimum weight?
3. 1/3 or 3/4 or 1 piece - is there REALLY a big deal about this? performance wise?
4. Long distance screw-back - i have not been able to master this, what is the correct method to this?
5. Length of a cue - how long should a cue be? is it with regards to my height or other factors?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
