  • How much wrist in cue action?

I didn't realise untill today, my cue action is about 40%-50% wrist...

If i understand correctly, shouldn't my wrist stay pretty still and infact it should be my elbow doing all/majority of the movement?

Reading through alot of stuff lately yes wrist action seems a bit of a no no generally speaking.

I use my wrist to generate extreme side, but I would never use it with a plain ball pot.

Different players use different amounts of wrist. Jimmy white and Joe Swail are pretty wristy whereas others hardly use the wrist. In general its probably easier to not use much wrist to keep things simple. However as long as the grip bings the cue through straight and you can play all the shots needed I dont think it matters.
