  • Audition for Snooker Team.

    Hi all,

First of all I'm not quite sure if I have this post in the right section but I will post anyway.
On Sunday I have a meeting with a gentleman who runs the Snooker teams at my club, does anyone know what useally goes on at these things? I have only been playing Snooker for two months. I haven't played any real competative Snooker, which is one of the main reasons I would like to join a Snooker team, to improve my skills and gain competative experiance.

My highest break in the lineup is 21. Any advice any of you guys could give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Regards
    PB Break of 21 encounting.

I guess you might play a frame with him so that he can assess your skills (or lack of lol)
If he thinks your good enough you will get on a team, but obviously if your worse than existing players why would he pick you ??
We have 6 players available for our 4 man team in Monday night league, because not everyone is always available, but most times we have 5 show up, with the 2 weakest players having to "play off" against each other to see who is strongest on that night, and they go thro to play for the team.

Good luck with the meeting and let us know how it goes. I'd like to get into teams playing too (when I'm better than I currently am anyway).

If you do not get in you could always try starting your own team. Thats how I got into it. As a coach I am always trying to get people to start teams. Most of the time local clubs will be pleased for you to play at their club as it brings in customers every week. Originally I started just by dragging my best mate and my brother in to make a team. The other advice I would give is just enjoy it especially if its your first season.
