EASB have now launched their Junior Coaching Scheme and have started the process of approving coaches. It is hoped that we can quickly achieve a national coverage and refer the many parental enquiries we receive as national governing body, to competent instructors.
The first stage of the scheme is aimed at youngsters entering the game for the first time, and will be intended to develop a basic level of proficiency upon which they can build their individual skills.
The scheme, which addresses both snooker and billiards, has been developed in co-operation with Chris Lovell of World Snooker, with billiards input from champion player and author, Martin Goodwill.
The package which has been developed will look to promote and expand the take-up of both snooker and billiards, with EASB facilitating entry to schools and other youth organisations for the purpose of recruitment.
Within the training programme, youngsters will be encouraged to develop their game by entering EASB Junior competitions, with various incentives and benefits also available to coaches, including cover under the Association's professional indemnity insurance.
More details and an application form are available on the EASB website
