Your question is very vague but then again you have answered yourself..........continue to do what you have been doing "consistently".....

If you're not consistent, means you have changed something along the way without realising it

The only way to improve consistency (unless you have a PERFECT cue action) and not one player in the world has a perfect one although some come close, is to practice, practice and more practice.

However, you should be sure your technique is such that you deliver the cue straight EVERY TIME. Without that all the practice will just be cementing in bad habits.

Video yourself or else go to a coach to get the technique down pat and the cue running straight. Since you are at the 20-break stage I know that you are still not delivering the cue straight.

yes terry i am still figuring out how..will get my friend to video my action down one day..i am still having an hour practice with at lest 10 to 15 mins shooting the cue ball up and down the table i get it straight back sometimes but most of the time it came back not straight although its a bit off but still it is bad..still working on my stance..the thing i found out is that when i am fully concentrating and doing every step correctly like take aim,do the right stance, doing a pause and delivering it smooth i can do the 20 plus break..think i still need tons of practice..to get to the 30 to 40 plus break..
