During the UK championship there was one moment where Judd Trump's alignment was being shown from the back of his stance, and his cue was bent so much because his chin presses so hard on it. Did anyone see that, and why his action is as such? Is it good to have such a technique?

How hard should the chin be pressing against the cue?

I don't know if he still does but Graeme Dott used to have to wear a plaster on his chin to keep it from bleeding during a match.
However, I would think pressing the chin down so much that the cue actually bends is just a bit over the top but if you also have the cue against the chest then you would definitely have that 4-point channel through which to move the cue but I expect your follow-through would be limited unless you were able to drop the elbow straight down.
My recommendation is to have the chin on the cue but not pressing down firmly.

hey mate, i noticed this a while back around 2 years ago when i was watching a tournament on bbc and anothers players cue looked like it was bent and the shaft was bending whilst he was cueing on a shot, i forget who it was now but it wasnt judd's. I heard multiple factors can contribute to this and make it appear as though it is such as the tv camera angle and just the flex of the shaft itself which you can probably see why with it being a 1pc cue Judd uses.
I dont really know the actual reason but im sure many people on here will.
Merry christmas and all the best TSF'ers.
