I don't know Gerrit in person, but I have seen Roy Stolk play a couple of times on tv a few years ago.
Beating him, and finally becoming Dutch champion, is a huge achievement I can imagine ;-)

As for my problem with losing to "guys who can hardly hold a cue", well it was a little better the last few weeks. In the competition match against the last team, one of the guys forced me into a final black, but after 10 minutes of safety I finally got a chance and potted the black. (I won my other frames with ease)
To be honest, my form is way better altogether so I'm not sure this has something to do with my "problem" against lesser players... Maybe I'm just calmer because I know I'm playing well...
