  • Dominant eye

    Hi,

How to test which eye is dominant eye? My left eye is much better than the right but when I lay down aiming the object ball I find that I am using the right eye! Is that unusual? And when I bend my hand to left and make the cue under the right eye the cue is straight to the object ball but it is very uncomfortable For me coz I can't see the balls clearly. Now I bend my head to left in every shot and now the situation is that my long pot is much better than before but short pots are worse than before. And I always make easy mistakes. Is that because I am changing my aiming technique or the technique itself is wrong?

    Thanks.
    I wanna play more matches!

Simple test to identify which eye is dominant.....

Place a piece of chalk on the rail at the middle of the back cushion behind the black spot.

Stand at baulk end in middle behind the brown spot.

Point your index finger directly at the chalk.

Now close your left eye......is your finger still pointing straight at the chalk - if yes then your right eye is your dominant eye - if no then your left eye is dominant.

Now just confirm by opening your left eye and closing your right eye. If on both ocassions your finger was still pointing directly at the chalk then both eyes are equal / neither is dominant.

Hope this males sense and helps.

As for stance and cueing then that is a matter of trial and error to sight pots and align cue using your dominant eye, ussaully by tilting head to one side / cueing slightly to left / right of chin.

    regards sprog

      Hello

My left eye looks cue ball and right eye object ball. Pretty hard to play but using some part Del Hills aiming system that problem is smaller.
When im down i try to avoid watching cue and cue ball, have to trust where i landed cue, bridgehand and body.
