I was taught to step onto the line of shot with my right foot (I am right hander right eye dominant) however on Nick Barrows coaching on Snookergym he says you should line up the shot with your nose central, to me this would push the right foot out sideways to the right could someone make it clear regarding Nicks departure from the leading foot being on line of shot.

Your right foot (some part of it, usually the arch) should be on the line of aim of the cue and directly under the butt of the cue and the grip hand when in the address position. Your nose (in other words your eyes) should be looking at BOB (Back-Of-Ball) so on most shots they are ALMOST pointed along the same line and will be for dead-in pots.
If you believe in the preferred (dominant) eye theory and have the cue lined up to the right of your chin it is still the same

If you study Coaching materials made by Nic Barrow you will see that he actually teaches his students to put the heel of your right foot on the line of aim while it is rotated @ 1 or 2 o clock, in addition he will also teach you to put your bridge hand, and the grip hand right above the line of aim just before going down on the shot.
p.s. to those of you thinking who is this new bloke butting in "hello everyone this is Shaun, just joined the forum to learn a bit more about the game, i have already uploaded a thread to say hello to you all in the introduction/newcomers section "
