    Hi Guys,

Had my own table now for nearly 5 month and have this damn bridge arm shoulder problem, only had it since having the table..I do lots of exercise and never have problems at all with shoilder joints, so it must be the repetitive strain on the joint being pushed on the table bed. I was wondering how Khaos got on, would be good to hear..

Going to have to bend my bridge arm instead of having it straight...

The straight bridge arm where it's 'thrust out' like Joe Davis recommended will induce pain in the shoulder joint. I recommend the bridge arm to be 'almost straight' with maybe a 10-20degree bend so a player can push the elbow into the bed cloth when getting down on the shot which lets the bridge forearm and hand take about 10% of his total weight and provides stability on the left side (which in turn keeps the right side generally stable).

Modern players should remember that Joe Davis (and Fred Davis too) were not tall men, I believe somewhere around 5ft8in or so and Joe (and Fred) had found the straight forearm with the armpit down low to the table and right shoulder up as high as possible helped his stability, but for a 6ft player to do that means a really severely bent leg on the left and also some bad ligament stretching in the left shoulder joint.

Remember, in the snooker set-up COMFORT is the first rule.

        Thanks, Terry.

I will try the bent bridge arm later. I have to change because the discomfort is noticeable down on the shot. Watched a video of Ronnie practising and everything looked so un strained and natural and I think that's the thing,,,, when we read about different technique,s a lot of players tend to try too hard making it too strained and unnatural, hence, problems like the shoulder.

        Thanks again, Terry..
