I'm pleased to say that I've just finished my first coaching session with John Woods. I've also joined the Hurricane Room snooker club at Kings Cross. I've got a long way to go, but looking forward to practicing technique. Having someone help me get started was definitely the way to go.

That sounds like a smart idea, I wish I did a similar thing when I started. Not having anyone to tell me how to play position means I can pot well but struggle to develop a break. I know a coach local to me so I may have a few sessions just to get me started on the right track.

Definitely the right move... straight away he told me I was 'standing like a pool player' and having been shown how to stand properly my accuracy improved instantly.
I'd recommend it to anyone. I put in 2 hours practice on Monday too, but I think finding the time will be my downfall. Looking forward to the next coaching session.

You won't go far won't with John he's a great coach, indeed there's no good putting in the hours of practice if your basic technique isn't right.....
I used to play most my snooker down at the Hurricane rooms in Kings Cross, really nice club!!Winner of 2011 Masters Fantasy game......
