I think a lot of people would enjoy that and it makes it easier for the mods too ... if a thread gets too heated, you can just move it to the Flame Pit or indeed tell people to sort it out in the Pit ...

I am a bit disturbed that someone's real identity has been revealed here without his permission, regardless of so called 'trolling'. I am not sure how this sits with the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you guys could see the PMs sent to me by bonoman and the multiple insults then you might agree with ferret releasing the name. I mean really gross insults that were totally unwarranted. That's why I think he had been drinking.

But then again, after seeing he reached a high ranking of #388 I'm ready to play the match for 2K best-of-17 where I have to win one frame and he has to pay AND quit the game forever. I even offered to buy his cue once we were done as he wouldn't need it anymore.

As you know mate, I have a lot of respect for you, and concur with the thoughts of others here w.r.t. someone sending you crap, and this obviously needs dealing with, and Ferret has, so that's all good. But at the same time, he has a right to privacy if that's his wish. Do you know what I mean?

That's not the point, as a forum owner you can't go around publishing people's private data which they wish to remain private, it's just not done and is quite possibly illegal.

I've nothing against you personally Terry, but forum rules should apply to ALL mebbers, I've seen some people banned for much less, and some get away with a hell of a lot more and it's not right.

If we came on here, and revealed someone's name or email address or ID, how much grief would we get? It can't be easy modding a forum though, the lines must be quite blurred sometimes, and deciphering right from wrong can't be easy all the time. Policing the playground ain't that much fun.

I don't publish my name and details because I wish to protect the privacy of my family, not everyone in the virtual world is fully wired up. Some people on TSF know who I am and I hope I can trust them. But if anyone publishes my details, be sure, I have my lawyer on speed dial.
