I'm a fan of checking the cue on the shot.
with regard to this device for want of a better word, I have seen steve davis using this and although i'm not a fan of gimmickry i think
this is an effective way of checking your line of aim and would like to try one myself.

Has anyone bought this product and seen the 'how to use' instructions that come with it? I'm interested to know if there is many ways it can be used to practice, and if it can still be beneficial without having someone around all the time to remove that sheet of paper from it when you're down at address.

may be someone could invent an automated version, maybe based on some kind of slow release with a time delay and spring????

Take a piece of paper and fold it into a triangle which is about the height of centre-ball (1" high) and perhaps 3" wide at the base and then set up the cueball anywhere you want and an object ball anywhere you want and before you get down on the shot place this triangle right in front of the cueball on the line of aim so you can cue through the triangle but you won't be able to see the cue at all. I've tried this exercise and proven to myself that even though my eyes flick between CB and OB when I'm feathering, at the initial first pause and also at the front pause my eyes are actually checking from the 'V' to the OB.

This experiment will quickly show you that you do indeed check the line of the cue, hopefully when it's at rest in the address position.

I will try that out, just to see what effect it has, as i mentioned i do look at the cue i can't help it.
