Yeh can sleep in them. I dont know they are in most of the time. Sometimes if you get an eyelash go in your eye or something then it will irritate, just take it out, clean in and pop it back in.

Good practice to take them out overnight a few times a week to give your eyes a chance to breath properly, you dont have to though.

Go to the opticians and they will trial you with them for a few weeks for free. Worth a go!

Going swimming can cause a bit of irritation, i wear goggles and have no problems.

this is where i struggled, i cant look into the lens when i put it in and they wouldnt let me take them home to practice, need to man up and go back. ................... my eyes are watering just typing about it!!!

Like with anything just needs practice. If you have daily's come the end of the month you'll be doing it in seconds.

Only problem i find is if you get your fingers wet (easy to do when your cleaning the lense before putting it in) you cant grip around your eye to open it up. All trial and error finding out what works for you.

I'm skeptical about wearing contact lenses, especially for prolonged periods of time. They're foreign objects after all and I've heard horror stories about eye infections due to contact lens usage... I wear daily disposables for special occasions or when playing sports.

There's nothing to worry about when it comes to wearing contacts along as you have the correct type for the usage that you require. They come in varying qualities. This is based on how permeable they are to oxygen and thus they are priced according generally. Those that are more expensive tend to (no always) be those that allow more oxygen through and enable you to wear them for longer periods of time. They can range between 6-14hrs for daily disposable ones.

Eye infections can occur but only through bad practice. Not washing hands properly when putting them in etc. or wearing them too long and rubbing your eyes with dirty hands.

Sidd, I have also got stgmatism, and quite bad in my right eye. I got toric lenses from specsavers on a free trail, took me 3 visits to acutally get them in my eye as I kept closing my eye as my fingers got close! It's worth sticking with though, the optician told me that 4 years ago they would not have been able to get me lenses that would be suitable. Costs me £15 a month for monthly disposables, I am too blind for dailys! Find sighting so much easier than I did with glasses.

Got myself some the day before yesterday. Played with them in yesterday evening and this afternoon...

All the years of playing with glasses were a bloody waste of time. The difference is more than huge!

Not only that this stupid spectacle frame isn't annoying me anymore. I can judge angles much better now. Don't exactly know how this comes, but I suppose it has something to do with the distance to the eyes.

That's exactly how I felt when I first put on contacts... I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid and it's quite a liberating feeling to be able to see clearly without them for the first time.

I think you do get some distortion from the glasses.

I've been wearing contact lenses for 30yrs now and I've never had a problem with them. You just have to remember to clean your hands well before putting them in or removing them.

Sidd...since my last eye surgery I too have had astigmatism in my right eye but I now have a contact lens (gas permeable) which corrects that to 20/15, which is the best for snooker

I had a long testing session (over 2-3 months) with Toric soft lenses but for some reason they were never totally clear and not 100% comfort free where you didn't feel they were not in your eyes. Tried nearly every brand that there was to try including dailys and monthly disposables.

I found the lenses were OK and perhaps better than my regular glasses which I had to push right up my nose to play (pool in my case) but pulled the trigger on getting some custom made frameless (similar to Dennis Taylor style but not as large) spectacles from specsavers and have never looked back! They have transformed my game where I am no longer concious that I have less than perfect vision and nothing stuck in my eye which can take away your concentration!

The ones I got were from the regular range of frameless but asked if the lense itself could be extended upwards a little and they did it no problem... You don't even notice them that much front on so I personally dont think they look that idiotic although my daughter would beg to differ lol
