I think there is no way to find out before a shot by any means that this is going to kick... ! This comes with this game and we have to get used to with it... !

Yes, Adam does play in the PTC's. I hope he does well because he really has improved loads over the last few years and has a great attitude to the game.
He won our league averages last year as he won 24 out of 25 frames. Annoyed me because I won 21 out of 21. You need to play 22 to qualify

I feel the maximum will come eventually. That's three really good efforts in the last two months opposed to the former three last decent chances over the last two years.
Never even jawed the last black last month when I had to drop it in from near the middle pocket.
Snookered myself slightly a week ago on 73 playing a little cannon and then Monday night's nightmare.

It took me 20 years and three very close efforts , down to blue , pink and the blue again, I finally did it a few years back and it made me forget all about the close efforts..
.but that said I needed them to tell myself I can do it cause right at the end from the blue on ..just when you think you have got it..your mind says something can go wrong and it wont let up...keep it up ..good luck.

I just thought there was a reasonable chance you could have been playing him and that some random stranger on the net guessing this would do your head in. Worth the risk of being wrong just for the possible freakiness of being right!

As for the 120, I had three 120's before ever having a max. I also had three 99's before my first ton. Don't know what that says about me as a player? Bottler or something! Anyway, if you've had 15 red/blacks then you can have a max, so don't worry, chill out, it'll come.

Yeah, fair guess pal. Edgey's not actually been around for a knock yet. Our sides play eachother next Thursday so I'll sort something with him then no doubt and give the young pup a bit of a lesson.

Missed the pink last night...

Bad shot on the brown left me a bit close to the blue.
Dropped it dead weight to the corner and hit the knuckle with the white; pushing it to the adjacent jaw of the middle pocket.

Elected to run the pink through for the black over dropping it in dead weight again... Didn't even threaten the jaw. 134

Little bit disappointed but not like before with the kick.

Did have 100 clearance in my match last night though.

Playing a lot lately, the max must come... surely?

I was playing my mate a few weeks back and he had 13 red blacks 2 red pinks and had the easiest of yellows with a rest and obviously was too easy and missed. i feel for you lol

I have missed the yellow on 120 myself but that one was my fault as I ended up with a straight-in 15th black on the wrong side of the table and could only screw back for a longer yellow, however I was happy with the 120 (I've had 3 147's though).

There are some things you can do:

1. Stew and worry about it and have it effect your overall game (although it appears you didn't let this happen).
2. Snap off the last 6" of your cue so you get a sharp point and then fall on it like the Romans used to do.
3. Swallow the yellow ball (but then it could have been the cueball, so swallow them both I guess and that would mean those 2 balls would never be used again).
4. Keep at it and they will come and it appears you're doing this and that is the best thing you can do.

I'm with J6UK on that one... Happy with 120 on a max chance... I'm haunted by it.

Not too bothered about last night because I made a mistake in shot selection... It wasn't pressure, it was just I over complicated it.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

The very best of luck to you Pottr, I'm sure you will get that max, it must be incredible to just do a total clearance never mind a max, I can hardly comprehend the concentration and the cue ball control involved in doing such a break, I am in awe of everyone who has made one.
I would be haunted by the kick as well, wouldn't have been as bad if I cued across it or something that was my fault, but to miss out like that, it would stay with me.
