  • Del Hill coaching - Need advice on transport and stuff

My girlfriend wants to get rid of me and therefore sends me to Del for a week in February.

I'm from Switzerland and have some questions for you guys:

. Has anybody here already had a coaching with Del?
    . What are your experiences?

. Are there trains from Spalding to King's Cross on Sundays? (Couldn't find any on nationalrail.co.uk but can't really believe there aren't any.)
. Is there a better way to get from Heathrow to Spalding than by train?

    Thanks for your advice.

I run a taxi company in the Midlands. I'd be happy to send a car for you...

... Probably cost a bit more than the train though.

There will definitely be some sort of train service to get you to Lincolnshire. Boston or Skegness is where you should head for by train. Not Spalding.

    On a Sunday that is.

How much would it be for a taxi then?

Spalding is what Del said. He would pick me up there...

Edit: I could fly to stansted just as well if I took a taxi.

Del is great! He strips away the complications of the game that as a player you may have built up in your head.
            Cannot recommend him enough.

Thanks guys... I'll be booking everything tonight. But the National Rail can be a pain in the a** methinks. How are you supposed to get around on sundays? No connections from Spalding to London, just about five in the afternoon from Grantham to London... horrible, don't you think?

Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to get my license, so a car is not an option I'm afraid.

Del's is the best place going if you want a snooker holiday IMO, I live near by and go round weekly for lessons with his son Tom who is also a great coach and you couldn't ask for a better set-up for snooker coaching. They've recently built their own 'shed' which has 2 more tables in as well as the one in the house and all are very good tables. The weathers pretty chilly up here at the moment but he's also got two huge lakes with tons of fish in that you can fish if you need a break from snooker. Until you've been it's hard to understand the standard of Del's coaching and how brilliant it is there. You'll have a cracking time :snooker:

Thanks willtyson. Can you say anything about accomodation or more about infrastructure?

@jim evans: Yes I have looked into that, but connections from Switzerland aren't that good either. Apart from that, I love London, so I'm flying to Heathrow just to get that "big city feel". (I know, Manchester is big too, but it's not London is it)

Will have to visit Manchester another time and take my time there...
