How about modifying it to keep you interested...
Instead of no pots for 15 minutes how about playing a frame where for the first pot in any break to count the white has to end up above the baulk line.
So basically you'd be practicing shot to nothings which If your going to be an attacking player because safety bores you will be what you should be playing.

Dammit! Still having trouble posting replies.

      itsnoteasy:

Yes, you would get a 'lighter' contact from one red as opposed to the pack or even 2 reds together. This shot with one red only will do nothing to practice the break shot. You can test this yourself by placing a plant with 2 balls on the table and screwing back off them and you will get a much larger reaction due to the extra weight in the object ball.

The best way to learn this is Nic's OPP (Observe, Predict, Plan) principle. Set up the shot and just try different power and difference amounts of side and OBSERVE the cueball path. Once you have a feel for power and side combinations then do a little PREDICTING with different power and side and see how you fare.

Lastly, once you have some idea of what you need on the shot then try PLANNING a shot to either make the cannon on a specific ball or else go between 2 of the baulk colours to reach the cushion.

If there are 2 of you playing you can make a game of it. You score a point if you leave a pot, first to ten loses.
Obviously the idea is to not score a point !

Well 2 bits of good news, i ran in my first century on the line up(107, 5 reds and blacks, 7 pinks and reds, blue pink and black to clear what i had on the table)
Played in the league, a very very scrappy tight game but i tried my best and managed to squeeze a win, happy days.

            Well done on the century
I have only ever had the one and I will never forget it.

I love tight, scrappy frames. You can't beat coming out tops on a safety battle. It is like winning at chess.
