Coaching in East Midlands

Hi

After many years of "casual" play, I am considering getting some snooker lessons for me and my 15 year old son. We are at a pretty low standard (best break 30+) and it would be good for him to learn some 'proper' fundamentals before I ruin his game.

I had a brief look at the Star Academy in Sheffield and that might work. I do have a table, however, and home tuition would be more convenient for me. We live in the North Notts/Retford area.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks for replying Gavin. According to Bing you are about 97 miles away from me, which is probably a bit much. I had a look at the World Snooker website but it was not obvious to me how to find Mr Stark. Nothing came up using the 'Search' box.

What do you think of the Sheffield option?

I have my own table and Darren Presgrave has travelled to my home in Chesterfield several times to give me some private coaching. He does a group session for youngsters at North Notts Community Arena on Saturday afternoons. He is very generous with his time, friendly and I have found him very helpful. Incidentally he was on duty at the Crucible first weekend in the background helping youngsters on the snooker table behind the pundits as Hazel Irvine did her interviews between frames.
