I felt inspired by Sidd's effort to make a vid of myself for people to rip to pieces.

It's just me mucking about rather than serious practice. I'm got access to a snooker table in a little building owned by my landlord but the room is a bit too small, the table is incredibly slow and has a nasty roll towards the baulk end.

I thought this was a good video to get criticism as I'm not playing great so there are probably a lot of things to pick up on. I'm also trying to play relatively naturally, rather than putting too much effort in. Still, at least I ended on a high, of sorts.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

While other expert opinions shall be on their way soon, to my personal opinion, which will be naive and a non-standard suggestion; I think you have a very solid technique that you can rely on.

Do you normally practice on this table? it is indeed way too slow than normal club level table. with Cb just dies even without hitting the cushion. Try to practice on a better table if you continue on this one you might get used to it and then would find controlling the CB a hard thing to do on better tables.

I did notice that your cue, like me, is a bit high on the cushion so you can bring it down a little by leaning back a bit. Otherwise to my eye you have a good technique .. cant say more ... lets wait for the expert opinion from the maestros.

One minor point. You start feathering before your chin is down on the cue - so you're feathering with 1 less point of contact, and by the time your chin gets your cue might be slightly offline.

.. and like me you need to work on position, so you can avoid having to play so many shots from weird positions

looked at a good portion of the video, but the problem is the camera is too close to the table because of the small room I guess, so I couldn't see your body on 90% of the shots.

About the only things I noticed have already been mentioned and that is when your bridge hand hits the table stop the cue in the address position for 1-2sec to check everything (I call this the preliminary pause and the second thing was your left armpit in most shots was too high off the table but not a terrible amount.

My opinion is to stick with what you have as your technique is excellent except for those minor two points. What's killing you is the speed of that table. I looked at some of those shots after just practicing on my table and I'm sure those same shots would travel at least 5 times further on mine (which is very fast).

Although the pockets seem fairly generous on this table the slow speed is making you shoot too hard all the time and this just isn't good for your game. Your nice long backswing helps with the power but it just isn't enough. I can't remember ever seeing a table that slow and believe me, I've played on a lot of crappy tables.

I liked It MT, looks very natural, I don't think your far away at all, good luck with it.
P.s the table didn't look that slow to me, maybe our club tables are slow as well.
