Think i need a magician rather than a coach so i,ll be in touch soon Chris to arrange our session .
I think I need a coach, hypnotist, fortune-teller and a magician to improve my game!
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins. I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
My thoughts exactly. I'm finding I am very inconsistent and my own self coaching doesn't seem to be working, even with the video analysis. I think a player needs another set of expert eyes to determine where he's going wrong. I think Chris will really help you out.

Not so sure Tel my bad habits are ingrained and have been for too many years , its going to be really really tough to correct them ..... ?. i really feel like jacking it in .
There is no magic or trick to snooker, If Chris , sorry when Chris sorts everything out, it's up to us to do as we are shown all the time, it's not easy, somedays I honestly know I could give anyone in our club a game, others days no chance, so I go home read the notes he made me and go back and try again, there is always something I am forgetting, yesterday I was not totally concentrating on dropping down straight , and I was not as good for a while but I got it back again, other times i hit the ball, instead of stroking it, but now i know whats wrong(i hear Chris in my head, when i go wrong, dont know if this is a good or bad thing lol).this I think is what can be done for all of us, a solid foundation and things to refer back to when it goes wrong(which it will) wish I had the chance to video my day it would be a great help to see it again, maybe in the end we reach our level and that's that, you either accept it and play for the love of the game, or give it up, let's face it we all can't be pros.

The longer you've been doing something a particular way the more difficult it is to change it IMO. I'll bet most of us "old timers" wish we'd had lessons 40 years ago. If you develop a good cue action when you're young it can stick with you for life although I would expect bad habits creep in but maybe they would be easier to correct?
I agree with that statement. When I returned to the game after a 10yr layoff I initiated some bad habits and although Nic Barrow identified all of them 5 years ago I'm still trying to iron them out but it's been very tough. Also, I think over these past 4 or 5 years I have developed MORE bad habits and even with video analysis and my coaching knowledge I have found over the past 6 days I am unable to get rid of them.
Moving my upper body to the right and having my grip hand go to the right on delivery (elbow not dropping straight) are serious flaws and I have to get rid of them somehow.
Yes there is no way around it in snooker, and in pool. All the lads in their 70s with there names up in gold leaf on the 100 board, who may have shook between shots, but once their hand hit the table they transformed. Some of the best cue-actions/ techniques Ive seen. Two frames 50, 80, handshake, bar, pint and banta. Sometimes the other way around
Its an art
Just read that you feel like jacking it in. Once you get a bit of coaching and iron out a few flaws you will feel much better. And I mean coaching from any coach not just me. But I had a guy come to me about 6 months ago feeling really bad about his game but he was doing alot wrong so that is why he was playing so bad. We sorted a few important things out and he just text me yesterday saying he knocked in a 63 break and hes delighted so just give it a chance hotpot once you have had a decent amount of coaching and putvin a good bit of table time. Keep the chin up mate.

Cheers Chris small
Thanks Chris , just come back from the club and after Lee sorting out my alignment issues i,m beginning to hit the ball much straighter , even though i have bad technical issues i still knock in big breaks its the highs and lows i cant handle but adleast i know whats causing it now .
Just to let everyone know that my document titled " how to win 1 1/2 world ranking events" is going to be on my website very soon. Kevin smithers is just putting the finishing touches to it now. I would appreciate some feedback from you guys if you have some spare time on your hands.
Practice today was awfull , I felt very stiff and aggressive and basically my cue action was horrible, there was movement in there somewhere but I don't know where it stemmed from, I really had to work hard to get any type of rythm but it was streaky at best, pot everything for ten mins, miss a Lot for the next couple, then back to potting, had a bad back for last couple of days so not been, bit sore today, but that's not an excuse, just hope it's one of those days, as I haven't played like that since I went to see Chris (don't get me wrong it's still better than before I went) but I felt I had cracked that cueing from the elbow, or timing, or what ever its called, it just wasn't there today.
