I was just watching that again last night - I don't think I fully understood the 1st time watching it, because I was newly into the game again and there was a lot to take in.
Looking back at the sections again, I was thinking "Aah right", as little snippets clicked.
Yeah I was same the first time I watched it, my game went as I tried to change too much at once, then thought it would be better to watch one section only a couple of times before a practice session, I like it as he gets straight to the point, pity there's not a more modernized version again with someone like Hendry demonstrating.
Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning...
on sighting it is very possible that you are standing in the wrong place at the start (if you are a < 50 break player)
it's a weird thing to explain but if there is certain shots where you are undercutting or overcutting, experiment with moving a little to the left or to the right whilst upright standing looking at the shot.
your brain will sometimes see an imaginary line and I try to lock on to that. sometimes I can't quite believe the line and I adjust but I am slowly learning to trust the line.
www.sightrightcues.com seems like an interesting idea. Not sure the price is justified though. Just looks like a sticker to me. Maybe you could make a diy sticker?
It looks to me like it's not a sticker, but something like the original sightright device miniaturised and set in clear plastic and inlaid below the shaft surface, to keep the shaft smooth. And it looks like it works on the same principle as the original sightright device.
The sightright device appears to be two lines imbedded in the butt however you have to hold the cue with the flat straight up and since I don't do that and there are a lot of players who don't, it isn't much good.
In addition you would have to look at it while down on the shot (I assume) which could be distracting since it's below the joint and who looks at the joint when cueing?
In addition, these cues must be made in Thailand with that type of joint and at 400GBP for the top of the line that's apretty high price for a gimmick.
