OK, so third attempt at a video today.

I was using my cheapo Chinese maple cue today, but it felt fine.

Things I was working on mainly, was: Distance between bridge hand and CB, bridge hand ON SLATE where possible and trying to address the CB a bit closer. Still a way to go, but feels better.

Also, I was trying more of a 'walk-in'... More of a right foot, left foot shimmy but it seemed to work ok.

    I missed a pink at 5:40 on 64 (from memory, I got a kick) but kept going to 92 ( I think ).

    I think you look good.

Timing is good getting through the ball well - Don't think playing on that table helps because it looks a bit slow - so it will be a little harder to judge position as you are having to hit things that bit harder.

All I would do is take a little more time to asses the shot before getting down on the odd occasion give yourself time to settle rather than going from one ball to the next all the time try to think a couple of shots ahead and plan position which might help you from loosing the white as much. I would also vary your routines to work on different parts of your game rather than just the line up - the cross of reds with pink helps develop feel and position potting just using close control - soft stuns for example.

Thanks - I changed this line-up from my previous attempts by only having reds on the top half of the table. I'll try the cross next time.

        You look very good.

I'd say maybe once you get to 30-40 points you lose a little bit of self belief and the cue ball just seems to be running a bit more wild than it was on the first few shots.

You're definitely good enough to be knocking in 100+ in the line up.

Thanks - I don't think it's lack of self belief... More like lack of consistency lol... I'm beginning to get my head round shots that crop up repeatedly and require the same positional shots to recover. Had to go to one session a week instead of two, as it's getting a bit expensive!

I know what you mean about expensive. I spend an absolute fortune on playing snooker!

Whenever you move to a faster table, you will notice sudden improvement and higher breaks for you. this one looks way too slow. In the beginning the black you took with two cushions, you really had to power that in to get there... on a faster table it could be achieved with much less power and hence positioning would improve. You have a fairly good pot but you were not getting to the perfect position at times due to the table being slow I guess but you managed to carry on as you have a nice pot.

Fairly very good technique and good timing as said above. I like the fact that you have calmness in your action, if you know what I mean... Keep it up mate ! I was really inspired by how you do not drop the elbow at all during the final delivery, as this is something I am trying to build in my technique.

Looking good Humpy, I agree def you will knock in a ton soon, I think you have too many balls between pink and blue lol, have a couple above, if you don't want to put anymore below the black, it just looks very cramped for space now, I think the idea is that you can pot the reds into all pockets in the bottom half of the table.

Aye, just trying different routines. Somebody mentioned before that more reds at the black/pink end gives you more options and keeps focus down that end.

                  Hopefully get the 100 soon!

I have no doubts whatsoever ,when I did it I got stuck around the seventy mark for ages, you have gone through that mark very quickly so there is nothing stopping you now, good luck.

2 things, first the front pause before the shot is pretty inconsistent, first red you have some, next 5-6 shot theres no pause at all. That red just below pink to the middle has good pause and it looks very nice. Second thing is that you don't have any pause after you get down, you just start swinging your cue immediately, there should be at least small pause to see if you are correctly in position.
Try those, see if that helps.

                        humper:

The speed of this table is killing you. That first black you had to hit a ton to get the 2 cushions and also your head popped up as you had to hit it so hard. See if you can either get on a faster table or else get this one brushed, blocked and ironed before you practice.

Also, try using the 2-6-7 or 3-5-7 set-up to get more experience around the top of the table. I see no reason at all why you shouldn't be able to be making some high breaks as there's really nothing wrong with your technique although I still noticed on some shots you do have a lot of cue hanging out there but that is not a serious problem at all and it seem to be natural for you.

On regular paced shots you look really good and on a faster table you will find your breaks increasing.

Thanks, folks - it's difficult finding consistency with so few hours played (2-3 hrs a week).

I'm finding the rear pause is helping a lot in concentrating the mind on OB.

Regarding the table... Yep, it's fairly slow compared to the others in the club but I wanted to play on the same table consistently. When I couldn't one day, the position was all over the place but yes, probably best to play on a faster table as most of them are.

you should practice on all the clubs tables so you get used to how to change the pace of cueball, i never stay on one table as it's very limiting

Ha,I do that as well Humpy, play on the same table, and on the very rare occasion I go in and someone's on it(it is rare as it's known as Jim's table lol, think I'm spending too much time there) and I have to play on another it takes an hour to get used to the table, I don't even play on a good table but it's in the corner out the way so I get a bit of peace(not that it's ever crowded) a bit of the baulk line is about two inches thick as they went squint when drawing it, redrew it straight and just coloured the gap in, it's very slow, but to me it's home lol.
