For some players its an enlightening momentMy favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Same here, the whole ball fractions potting never worked for me I need a point of contact! I really can't get the hang of the ghost ball system even though I have tried it on many occasions!

I know what you mean. I played naturally, visualizing patterns to score heavy, before I studied the table..
I'm always open and grateful for new knowledge though.

Well I think I have the answer to my problem when it comes just about everything I shoot at now the question is how do I fix it. I have attached a video for everyone to look at. You will notice I am aiming to the right then cueing to the right and the object ball is going left. HELP

As for my comments I would give a couple of tips from me Les.
Probably a few other things I could say but for now I think this might help the most.
I would work on sighting the shot when you are stood up behind the shot because it appears you are sighting when down and this is why it seems to take you longer when down - like you are really making sure.
I would work on getting down and getting aligned in the right shape concentrating on locking points by moving the cue a bit closer to your body or under the chin or to the side of it under your preferred eye if that is your bag - then as you slowly pull the cue back you can feel and see the cue come back in a straight line and detect it better if there is a wee bit of movement.
cue action - I don't think you are getting through the ball enough - it looks a bit stab stab - whatever you do with your cue feathering try and keep the action consistent. I feather once or twice pull back slow opening my grip at the back which acts as a pause and also helps keep the cue on line as I am not applying any pressure on the grip I time my pull back and this opening of the grip I think allows me to time the shot better using the natural weight of the cue and not so much of the muscle in my arm if you get me?
Then as I look at the path I am sending the white I push through with the cue closing the grip and accelerate the cue through the white not stopping at the front of the white as you sound like you are doing with the little peck action.
It is aright to have a short action less movement and I always shorten my back swing to get my game up and running again when things go a bit wrong but I think maybe you have too short a cue for you also which might hinder you from getting through the ball properly - you can also try moving your bridge hand closer to the white.
I saw the other previous video too and said you need to work on your shot selection - though I would work on your action first using some routines and because you have recently had a coaching lesson I believe - I think you have to put in the many hours to practice that too before moving on to the next thing - people always want to rush things to get better but there is no quick route just hard work and patience Les little footsteps at first pal. Good luckLast edited by Byrom; 29 October 2013, 08:50 PM.
