Hi, I have chronic headaches which I have had for a long while that get worse when I play snooker. I think it's due to the hyper extension of the neck which is involved in playing. It's annoying because I haven't played for a few months because of this. After a short while I start to feel spaced out and lose concentration. I think it's cause my neck muscles are tight as it is due to my chronic headaches so I'm aggravating that by playing. Does anyone have advice? I think my stance is fine. I'm not sure what to do. If I were to play a lot would it get better perhaps? As in maybe the neck would strengthen. Any thoughts are appreciated as I enjoy the game and it would be a shame to give it up, thanks

Got the same problem mate. Have had to pack the snooker in for a while. I'm afraid at this stage I don't have a solution for you but if I solve the problem I'll drop you a note. Think I've tried about everything without seeing any improvement but I'm not giving up. I started with an osteopath, then did lots of physio but I think that made things worse. I've had X-rays and an MRI scan but nothing more than " age related disc degeneration" showed up.
It might be that you need a complete rest from snooker then start with some gentle exercise to strengthen the neck muscles.

I suffer from sinusitis/cluster headaches/cronic migraines, for some reason it hasnt been found what the problem is despite having sinus surgery 2 years ago, had cat scans and mri scans, been to best neurologist around, been to facial pain specialists, had allsorts of medications but still no further forward, I had to pull out of the recent ptc in mullheim due to this. It aint the easiest game to play when all you wanna do is go to sleep so you dont suffer for a few hours.
