Hi,
My mate taught me the mechanics of a snooker stance and I implemented it into my game. At first, this caused me to miss, but then it worked and I was potting all manor of shots and long distance pots were easy. Even angled combinations where easy to make.
Problem is, I cannot get the one right position everytime I play. When my position is right, I pot really well (I've beaten some of the top players at my uni thanks to this stance and cuts to the middle go with ease), but when it's not right, I lose to beginners.
My mate says that my hips/waist should be angled/twisted, as if away from the shot. So as if I am swingin my backend out away from the cue. I cue with my right hand (grip), so I swing to the left somewhat. Is this correct? This gives me more cueing room and no possible chance of my cue or grip hand rubbing on my chest. This freedom of cueing can, and has, improved my spin, but with all this gap, I have a fear that I will cue badly as there is so much room for the cue to go sideways.
Any tips on the stance? I do practise my stance in practise sessions and I have read sites such as fcsnooker.
