well, his question in this thread basically boils down to "how can i not do stupid stuff?" how can any rational person reading this not think that this question is...... stupid? and why would anyone who is not riff raff try to answer this question?

Well you must have time on your hands to read a " pointless thread" and to post pointless replies. Im sure im not the only one, but due to the vast wealth of knowledge and experience on the forum I am not the only one to benefit from the help provided.......... there are many people on here who have vasts more experience than me and you use these forums to seek their advice, you make it sound like every problem you have you should find your own solution!!! Stupidity or in real sense lapses of concentration is a real issue in snooker due to the mental strain it takes..... and I wont be the last to struggle with it!!!

I think the thread really is, how do I become more consistent, that's a more positive slant, and it's something that can be advised on, I hope that is rational enough.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

"I then do something really silly........... and that is the only way I can describe these errors, it is as if I am fighting a side of me that is making me do silly things?

Is there any way to cut of these silly mistakes??"

So the fact I consider missing shots or going in off as a silly mistake...... that is causing you the issue. We all know missing balls if either technical or not concentrating correctly etc. I consider them silly mistake coz in my mind they should not happen. I really dont get your issue.......... besides sitting behind a keyboard arguing over issues that aint there!!! If it makes you happy the re edit the first post to refer to improving concentration. .... that make you happy??

why shouldn't people ask for advice on a snooker forum regarding snooker matters its none of your business anyway.

I agree. I think if your serious, you need to have at least half a dozen sessions with a good coach. If anything to decipher the 'self interest rubbish' from the good info on tsf.
