Can you not play in a league Belloz , matches then become routine, and if you are cut out for it the nerves if not gone can at least be controlled.(some never learn to control them unfortunately ).
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Ive played league snooker for years, to be honest I play reasonably well, the problem I have is for some reason I have moments of stupidity!!! For example today, I play 4 different line ups, and each time I broke down was due to me doing something stupid - and that somes up my game, I lose coz I do summut stupid, i.e. miss a silly shot or don't play a safety right. I will pot the hard shot to give myself a chance, then cant seem to stop myself missing a silly shot, even though I play the shot with same commitment and concentration.

Hard to explain really - have looked for coaches again in Swansea so I have someone professional to have a look at the reasons, but quite limited down here, from what ive seen when ive looked!!

you do stupid stuff because..... you are stupid. there is no cure for that. so you would ask your friends for psychological advice instead of going to a shrink.....?? so much logic in that......

technically wrong............ people do stuff because of various reasons, I have anxiety......... so does that make it my fault when I have an anxiety attack - no !!!! There is so much more to your brain and your body that you seem not to understand clearly!!! The reason people socialise and ask for advice is for comfort and consolation, whether they are right or wrong, its what people do!!! Never claimed there was a cure either, but there are things people do it help with problems, otherwise why would anyone try...... but as I said thanks for the advice!!

Good one! Yeah I cherish the simple shots because they often dictate how the break is gonna pan out so, head down, play it nice, crisp and get right side of your next shot.

Have you ever been a member of a snooker club? Or any social club? You know, ever mixed with a bag of all-sorts?

Try this perhaps. Say to yourself before every shot that if you pot it or play a decent safety (dependant on the shot) you will win £10. The idea is that for each shot you play you 'go for it' positively. Ok you will miss or play a bad safety, you are human, but at least you positively went for that tenner. I think there's a mega difference between missing positively and missing because you quit on the shot.
