This is amazing but now that I reflect on the past, I was always up for this task as if I was being prepared or something. I would like to share a couple of things from my life here.
1. I was educated in a missionary school and a missionary college, both run by the church of England, and therefore I have had many Christian friends since childhood. I have read their Catechism books and they my Islamic books. So I learnt inter-faith harmony since my early days and learnt how to celebrate diversity. I am lucky really and thanks to my mom (it was her decision to put me there- my dad could have put me anywhere really LOL- dads are dads no) so I believe my horizons were broadened and my mental faculties including my understanding on religion and God and the philosophy of religion and God strengthened. So yes do not be surprised if I quote from the gospel of John Yes I can quote and understand the Quran as well as the Bible and I am extremely happy about it. You know this broadened my mind and made me understand God better. My quote here is that 'religion is for us and not for God. We fight amongst ourselves for our religion for our God who incidentally does not happen to have a religion' FOOD FOR THOUGHT !!!
I know that this is an internet forum and that all communication between us is sent half way around the world through fibre optic and copper cables, and all that technology has brought different people together and all that blah blah blah etc etc. But I feel that I really like you as a person, strange that. Alot of stuff on this forum is pure bunk posted by trolls with nothing better to do with their empty lives, but a lot are indeed genuine and you are one of them.
But I can't be done with religion and the misunderstanding and literal take on any religious scriptures, be they christian or otherwise.
I know you're supposed to be tolerant and to respect others beliefs but I'm afraid I'm not and I've waited a few days and given some serious thought to this response to your thanks to me in your first post on this thread.
Like you I was educated in a religious school, all the english children were when I was a child. Church of England schools, and all children were given a Bible on their first day, first book I ever had and unlike a lot of others I actually took it home and read it.
It confused me in that the old testament spoke of a terrible, narcississtic and vindictive God who laid waste to lands and people and encouraged his followers to do the same, yet the new testament spoke with the voice of this Gods alledged son Jesus, who was the complete opposite and preached tolerance, understanding and love.
For centuries the Christian religion has been at odds with itself when taking a literal meaning from these two conflicting scriptures and many cults and sects have split from the orthodoxy of mainstream Christianity and set themselves up as the true voice and teaching of the Bible, again due to some misunderstanding of a literal text given meaning by some single persons own personal psychosis.
Although I have not read the Quran, from what I have gleaned from the many Imams speaking out in Britain I see exactly the same thing with Islam as I do with Christianity.
A persons own personal psychosis being at odds with what they have read in a particular religious text, leading to hatred of themselves and projecting that hatred out to the rest of the world. And it's usually about sexuality, after all science has debunked all the alledged history contained within the scriptures and all there is left for any religion now is their own sense of superior sexual morality.
This encourages homosexuals and paedophiles to speak out against themselves, while seeking guidance from the scriptures and in many cases actually joining a church or mosque where they can indulge in their percieved sexual depravity while at the same time denouncing it in others.
Psychologists call this ' Projection'
I am not saying that this is you Sidd, or indeed any one of these religions millions of followers. I am saying that religions are hijacked and in cases started by such people and that one must look at oneself in accordance with what these beliefs say about ones own personality.
Now I won't discourage feelings of spirituality as this is simply an affinity with nature, to whom we are all attched to and related to all living things as discovered through the study of DNA. All living things are descended from one single celled creature that evolved a billion years ago, diversed through evolution and spread out all over the planet while consuming itself in all its different guises.
Those alledged primitive peoples of the world, who still practise their psychoactive plant drug rituals, know this when their Shamans are possessed by the spirits of the creatures of the forests in which they live, and speak with the voices of their ancestors. After all psychoactive plants were the kickstart to human evolution when apelike creatures a couple of million years ago introduced these plants into their diet and pregnant females changed the chemical balance in the brains of their unborn babies, leading to a human mind capable of abstract thought.
When you read the religious text in the book of Genesis about Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit and becoming self aware you can understand the metaphor for the stoned ape theory from the likes of Terence McKenna and others. You can also see a metaphor in the actual creation of the earth if you understand the concept of nothing being known to exist unless it is observed, and the actual observing will change the nature of what is being observed.
God is man are the only three words in the Bible that need to be taken literally. God is man and when man evolved the world came into existence because it was finally observed by a creature that had the intelligence to recognise it and actually shape it, so therefore God created the earth.
Once this metaphor is understood one should take this understanding into all the other stories in all scriptures and seek to understand what they actually mean, rather than believing someone elses literal take that only has a bearing on their own psychosis and the need to project that onto you and everyone else.
God is man and Jesus and Satan are Gods two sides.
In the Bible btw, Satan actually kills no one, he simply needs to be worshipped/recognised to be as much of god as Jesus and persuades people to do their own bidding at his request rather than Gods.
The world is full of homosexual and lesbian vicars and paedophile priests who hide themselves behind their religion. The Taliban are all closet homosexuals who force their women to hide their beauty behind veils while indulging in Bacha Bazi, where pubescent boys are dressed in womens clothing and dance for the bearded adults, who film them and use the films for masturbatory fantasies or actually have sex with the boys themselves, and then go out the next day and shoot a school girl in the head simply for wanting to go to school and be educated.
Fear of educated women from bearded homosexual religious despots is rife in Pakistan and Afghanistan, why ?
Does the Quran state that it is wrong to worship the beauty of women more than it is to worship God ?
And has this line actually led to women in Islamic countries being forced into submission by closet homosexual clerics, who don't worship the beauty of women anyway, are ashamed of their own perceived sexual depravity and wish to project their own sexual suppression onto the heterosexuals who live in ignorance and fear of god.
We live in a naural world that hasn't been fully explained yet, but that is now in the hands of quantum physicists whose thoughts and ideas are beyond 99.999% of the majority of the people of the world, but when we look back at all the brilliant men and women who have laid bare the forces of nature to the rest of us, can we as a species really stay with religion as an understanding to how the world and life itself actually works.
Religion does nothing but divide, catholic and protestant, hindu and muslim, christainty and judaism, history is full of conflict arising from the stirring of religious hatred for the benefit of commerce and those 1% who own the world and who always need more. The civil war in Syria is just the latest installment with Russia backing Assad and Saudi Arabia and Qatar backing the rebels. The Russians are supplying gas to western europe and don't want this ended by a new pipeline from Qatar that will go through Syria to Turkey in competition.
I wish you well in your career as a writer and hope that one day you yourself will come up with something as brilliant and thought provoking as this,
Impressive post vmax,
I will need time to digest. However lifes dichotomy and how humans left and right brains are being looted and controlled by our psychopathic masters really sticks out for me right now..
I am not someone who can right so much due to time and poor typing skills
