Oh and well done Terry , you have worked a minor miracle, as there was no way Les could have got that far with his old cue action(no offence Les lol).
I will second that. I have my Son coming later this afternoon so this will be the first time I have actually played since going to See Terry.

    • Relax and enjoy it Les, then it may just flow, one ball at a time.

      • Nic demo'd the prototype of this to me last year.
I was so impressed with it and the concept of what it brings to high end analysis and coaching, that I bought one there and then.
Superb tool for precision refinement of the "small things" that matter in executing quality cueing.
As far as I am concerned any player with a good (or great) cue action is best parts there to becoming a very competent and consistent player.

Well I thought I would report back. My Son came last night and my high break was 8 and had a few chances before my son had balls all over the table but was completly out of position or I missed an easy pot. Now I got reading a new post on here last night in regards to the Stun Run Through and one thing I realized was in the four games we played I don't believe I hit one shot below center which I think is my biggest down fall. When I do the line up I am either hitting soft screw or stu shots all the time. How do you control a cue ball with piles of top on it? You don't, you stun it. Back to the table tonight for more line up practice. It's tough playing with most of my friends because it is all about bashing things all over the place. Now you make a red and my closest colour is down in the baulk area. Trying to find games with good players but not having much luck.

Well here is a thought Les, don't just pot the red if the colours are all in the baulk end !! try getting the white up there amongst them, it is fairly easy to do

              • Les do you plan any shot at all, it's impossible to play nearly a whole game with follow through, it's almost impossible not to get on a colour even if they are up the top end lol, you have to look at the shot and if it requires stun or screw that's how you play it, you can't over ride what's needed and play top , then complain your not on a colour lol.

I really don't know what to say. If you where to watch me practicing you would say this guy is good looks like a 60 to 80 high break player...LOL But then if you where to see me in one our qualifiers you would say what is this guy doing here...LOL How do you run 27 reds or 5 reds with 5 blacks in practice and then play 4 games and have a high break of 8.

                  • Lol, I don't know the answer to that one, although it is hard when the table gets messed up, but unless the colours are on the cushions you should be able to wangle a pot on the odd one, even if they are up the baulk end, you only have to get up around the blue spot and you will have a half reasonable shot at something.

Well I will keep working on my red lineup and see how I make out at out next qualifier the last Saturday in this month. I hope to get together with Terry before that for a few practice frames either at my house or his. He is the only one I can play an actual competitive match with around here and we are about a hour and forty five minutes apart.

                        Hi Les,

Have you toyed with your mind set before playing. The minute I start to over think about technique my game is definitely not as good. Its as though I have polished a style that is good for me and that I should carry on with it and further more polish it. If I had to pick one single thing though it would be on going down make sure you stick with the front pause. Everything else, just use what is comfortable for you and your body make up.

I know one of my big problems is being commited to my shot before I get down over the ball. When I am practicing I really concentrate on every shot and plan where I want the cue ball to end up, where to hit the cue ball and what kind if power. With my new grip that Terry has dwelled into my head which is starting to feel much more natural now I am really potting them well. I just need to play some competitive matches. I still feel that is my biggest down fault. We have a qualifier once a month which is best of 7 which normally goes 4 to 1 I am knocked out Nd that's it till the next month. My golf game did not get good practicing it got better day after day playing matches against better players then myself until I could beat them all. I hope to get up to see Terry latee this week for a few games.
