I don't know if this will work for you but here goes. I have the same problem with 'wandering eye' where I try and lock on at the front pause and try and stay locked on at delivery but I've found the damned eyes still don't stay locked on.
So I was experimenting this morning with trying different ways to get this done and I found if I REALLY slow my backswing down it has helped me to focus on the object ball and in addition it seems to help me a great deal driving though the cueball (or accelerating right to the end of the delivery).
It even seems to help a lot on lower power shots.
I can't recommend this for everyone however a very slow backswing would help everyone as it's much easier to keep a slower backswing straight (and consistent with the power required). Or it could be in my old age I just need more time to think.
Also want to emphasize...I mean REALLY SLOW.
