  • Sighting to Shooting - in detail

I have noticed how little people usually talk about how they feel or how the feeling is like when aiming, waggling, shooting. I thought I'd start the thread here. Please do reply with yours, in detail. Its interesting to find out what we really feel and perhaps, will shed a clue as to what we might be missing/feeling during the whole "routine"

sighting: i usually picture the CB contacting the OB at the point on the OB behind the pocket. i then try to picture the outside line of the CB when it impacts the OB. this is also where i look at when I switch my eyes to the OB. that outside line of the CB when impacting the OB. For me, the contact is thicker than what it seems. Between a 1/2ball to a full ball contact, that is usually the case for me, to aim slightly thicker than what i "sighted" initially.

PSR: grip the cue, place beside my hip, point down the line of aim. this line should match up near my pelvis, before i go down on the shot. with the cue pointing at the CB, as i go down, i put my bridge in place so that it is also on the line. then i start my waggle. i make sure when i waggle, my wrist is not cocked to either side, locked and feel that grip loosen enough. when i waggle, i try to feel that i am over the line, so that it will feel like im in control of the delivery. if i waggle and i feel that im off the line or the cue is to my side when im waggling, then usually it means the delivery will be off.
my final backswing is usually short, maybe 2 to 4 inches. any longer usually i see my cue moving cos my shoulder/elbow is not very stable.

delivery: i look at the OB but focus on the outside line of the CB when impacting the OB. sometimes my elbow drops (unintentional) but usually i control my delivery, sort of guiding the cue down the line instead of pushing the cue forward based on the waggles. shoulder is still but the point where grip hits chest usually skewers my shot because i can see the cue pointing and moving outwards as the grip starts to hit the chest. thats when i know i did not control my delivery well and let the forward motion take control of the shot.

there! this is how i feel throughout the whole shot. what is yours? im very interested to find out! sorry about the long post.
