exactly, that's what i'm on about , not the fact they have were moving and stopped they seem to always be directly in your eye line.
i know i should get up let them pass , but to be honest i feel it shouldn't make a difference i'm down on the shot and should pot.
it amazes me how many get missed. just shows that if the mind wanders you can miss anything

Just lately i've found myself listening to conversations that are going on around me event when i'm at the table in matches. Just cannot concentrate enough to block it all out.
It's weird really as my best sporting moments have always been when i've been in the zone and have no idea whats going on around me."just tap it in":snooker:

I beat a guy the other week in a grudge match in the league and I was so intense I'm sure I had eyes like a convicted killer; I never spoke, I didn't look round or make eye contact with my team mates, when they offered encouraging comments I didn't respond apart from a look and I didn't notice the opponent or even his opening break.
I walked tall, had a confident action and apart from jumping up on the rail and beating my chest like a Gorilla I was in the zone.
That has been the only time this year..........I've been a pussycat in all other games and find myself talking to other players and people...........It's finding the ability to put your game face on, certainly easier in sports like football than dead ball sports!

Without the intense focus you miss those 'get in the balls' chances and they cost badly. More grinding than attacking due to my long potting.

....and we all know this scenario. Your opponent has left you bang under the top cushion, no obvious path back or safety shot, there's a red, just off straight half way between pink spot and side cushion, do you go for it ?.....yep, you'd rather leave your opponent in going for it than leave them in making a mess of trying to play safe. You do your usual pre shot routine, get down on the shot, final pause on back swing and you deliver the cue through perfectly, you kinda know as the ball leaves your tip you've struck it well and your not surprised when the red hits the back of the pocket .....although the cue ball was struck as to create top spin and was struck at a half decent pace it strikes the red and then reacts as a stun run through and although the black and pink are a couple of feet from where the red was it couldn't have been played any better, a half ball black with two to three reds to drop on playing plain ball. You bounce down to the shot and once again start the routine, final pause, eyes firmly fixed on the black as you begin your delivery, white hits black, black hits bottom cushion, side cushion coming to rest 7 to 8" out from the pocket, at least you managed to drop on two of the three red's ......

At 3 times over the last couple of years I've potted two colours on the trot with reds still on where I'm thinking a few shots ahead and totally forgot I'm on a red!
