Thanks 4 more last night in an hour. It is amazing how it all starts to come together when you stun the ball instead of rolling the cue ball. Now I am thinking I should just widen out the sides a little.

    • You keep saying you're having the pockets done, then every time I read this thread, you still haven't had them done.

What happened to he bloke coming round last week?

Do all the pockets, not just the middles.

with some new found inspiration up your shorts you've picked up your cue and managed to smash-in 15reds, within an hour no problem. why not leave the pockets, get back to the office and smash-in 30reds, then 45reds?

Good Morning a Terry, yes I am going to have them all done even if they get another 1/4" out of the corners that would be great. Right now my corners are playing just about identical to the table they are playing on for the championship. If you catch the near jaw it does not go in where the other two tables where letting the ball go in. Good luck tomorrow. I will see you up there.

I totally agree with this, I have seen your corner pockets they are no smaller than our club pockets, the middles did look tighter. How come when you pot the last red you didn't stick them back up and continue from where you are?

LOL I never really thought about it. Next time I will work on that. I have Floyd Ziegler coming to play this afternoon so that will give me some good match practice. The last time he was here he ran 85. It will be interesting to see how I play today after spending the last few days doing nothing but the line up. I am amazed how the stun shot and soft screw are used all the time just to move the cue ball around.

                  • Don't expect too much Les there is a far cry from the red line up to making even a twenty to thirty break, just try your best and most importantly relax and enjoy it.

Your right about that....LOL But I could see how my red line up is helping. I did run 25 one game and we also play where if he is up on me by more then two snookers going into the colours we start tied with colours on table and I ran out with Blue, Pink and Black. Lots of work to do. Still not cueing straight all the time which really shows on long pots. Maybe I need to run the cue ball up and down the spots each time I go down to practice to make sure I am cueing straight. My middle pockets where killing both of us today and I cannot count how many Floyd rattled in the corners that just spit it back at him. High run today for Floyd was mid 40's as he always says my table is tough and does not forgive a shot that is not absolutely dead Center. Tuesday is the day...... I can hardly wait.

                      • Well that's a vast improvement, from your usual, well done. If we could all cue straight all the time we would all be on the telly .

Thanks, yes it felt good to run a few balls. 2 Pinks, 1 Black and 1 Yellow not bad 8 balls... we have our Open Championship coming up in 2 weeks which I have entered for experience and then after that the A Championship which I am looking to do well in. I will stick with the 15 red line up practice.

Okay guys had my pockets done yesterday. Huge difference in my game in only a few hours. They are still not huge but what a difference it made in my game. We played a few games after the guys finished and I ran a couple mid 20 breaks like nothing and the best part was playing position on my next shot even playing the odd cannon to hold the cue ball for another black. Terry was right on every aspect of my table and all the coaching that he has given me. Not that I was never listening but my table had me so frustrated I just kept looking for the Majic solution. Below is Terry's exact email he sent this morning.

I just hate to say it (not) but I told you so. The guys on TSF who told you to stick with the tight pockets either don't know what they're talking about (very likely) or are a bunch of sadists. Know one understands how tough my table played before unless you have seen it with your own eyes which Terry has. Now some of my other Snooker friends might come to play. Their reason before was they did not want to destroy their confidence....I will let you know when I hit my first half century.
