Hello just wondering if anyone has any tips on keeping the grip loose throughout the stroke as I find as I struggle with releasing the back few fingers so that it stays on a level plain, I also have a high tenancy to chip the White when trying to play a large screw shot, alternative grips or tips that have helped you would be appreciated so that I can give them a try and see of any work for me

Grip help
Getting the grip right is essential for keeping that cue on the correct path. Often our grip in the neutral or rest position doesn't allow the hand to open allowing the cue to stay on its path.
Try this...
Get down on an imaginary shot (cueing along the baulk line is great)
Perform your cue action freezing at the end of the backswing.
Without looking - Judge how tightly you are gripping the cue - Predict the shape your hand is in - Take a peek now - Is it what you expected to see?
It is common that players are gripping the cue much tighter than we thought and certainly much tighter than we need to.
Changing this needs you to play shots focusing intently on bringing the cue back online and as close to the cue's angle from the table as it takes on the front pause. Your grip will open to allow this. Take a moment to on each shot to feel what your grip hand is doing and take a look too so you can visualise how it looks for the future. If after 50-60 shots it is not having the desired result then you may have to change your grip configuration at the neutral point.
Let me know how you get on.
