not just to share ot with you guys, but also for me, so that I have
something like a time/abillity comparison

Good video Mat. Great that you are putting so much time in to improving your snooker. I think the only reason you are missing the simple angle blue shots is the fact you are trying to learn them using screw. Learn the shot with plain centre ball striking first and then move on when you are getting 10/10. Less chance that you will put unwanted side on the shot. Even start with just straight blues then slightly widen the angle an inch at a time so you learn the line of aim and contact point needed to pot the ball.

You're 100% spot on. I tend to use screw or whatever I feel makes
it more comfortable for me to play. Don't know exactly why that is,
but I feel, that most of the time I avoid plain ball play.

So what you would advice me to do is put a ball on the blue
spot and a white directly behind it. Then pot the blue, after that create a little
more of an angle between the two balls. And so on and on.
All played without screw or whatsoever? Did I get that right?

This noon I'm gonna train again. Then I will do this exercise and report
back to you all about the results. Each time I'm down at the table, I feel a bit more
confident So the old sayings probably right: Practice makes perfect.

Yes Mat, I mean play plain ball until you can play simple shots regular. No point making it more difficult to learn angles for potting by putting screw and side on the cue ball. Keep it simple while you learn the basics.

Went okayish but not great. So I will go on with these exercises
until it works out good for me. Just then the next step follows.

How's the practice going Mat?

Hi Mat,

here are some points you could work on to improve:

- You have a lot of body movement. Try to get the head, shoulder and the rest of your body as still as possible during feathering and delivery
- Your grip hand looks very tight. Try loosening you grip and opening the hand on backswing to avoid raising of the butt
- Try to get you arm nearly vertical at address position
- Get used to the front and rear pause before delivery like the pros do
- Have you got a lacquered cue? The glove is not common to snooker players
- Take a look at a top pro to copy his technique and approach. I would recommend Shaun Murphy.

In general i would advise you to see a coach in this early stage. Once you can pot a few balls with its VERY hard to change you cue action. Where are you playing?
