  • table height affect play?

Will table height affect the way you stand?

I have 2 billard hall here near my house. While I always goes to one for training and playing with friends. Lets call it A.

And another one which I goes at night recently because it is cheaper. Lets call it B.

The tables at B is much higher then A. I dont know how much. But its quite a lot and I can feel.it.

The increase in height also makes me change my stance by making my feets closer and grip more to the back of the cue. Normally when i play at A i hold my cue with about 1 inch left behind and legs about shoulder width apart.

When I do this stance at B I feel very uncomfortable.

What will be the correct way to accommodate to a higher table?

    I think it can yes.
I used to play on a table were one end was higher than the other because the floor dropped away, now that was disconcerting
    by the rules:
The height of the table from the floor to the top of the cushion rail shall be from 2ft 9½in to 2ft 10½in (851mm to 876mm).if either of these tables are not within that range, maybe you should mention this to the club owner (or slip an anonymous note )

Im guessing the difference in heights of the tables in the question being asked is more than 1 inch.

I would say more then 1 inch. It is very noticeable. But what is important is we can get use to different table fast. Which sadly I cant. So how do you adjust yourself to different heights

Yes,I been there recently . Need to re-adjust stance and etc and adapt so still okay after a while . The worst I went is Klassic at New World Centre as the floor is uneven . I could not play at all .

the tall one is toa payoh safra, the lower one is snooker zone. but i find snooker zone table height is quite standard.

This quote just made me measure my own table at home and it is 875mm exactly! Higher end of the norm i suppose but i love it as i am quite tall myself.

My mates table at home is very low and i notice it straight away when i play there after coming from mine. I don't think his table would be over the 851mm height at all, it is a pub type 7 x 3'6 though ( mine is bigger ) and it is hard to raise without adjustable leg heights under it just flat big timber struts which need small packers under it to level it off.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???
