Maybe try 5 reds around the blue spot, then 5 reds around the pink spot, and then try 5 reds around the black spot.

See if you can get 5/5 for all three exercises.

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

Thanks guys but think I'm gonna stick with the 15 reds for now. Got my heart set on clearing it, might take a couple of years at this rate. But hey, I'm still young! :biggrin-new:

Maybe replace one of the reds with the blue, one with the pink and one with the black. So still 15 shots but it gives you some practice sinking those high value shots too.

            No problem.

Note: I changed the wording from high pressure to high value shots. No point putting extra pressure on yourself.

Thanks for all the input. I will start playing the 15 reds between pink and blue spot instead of the line up.

Please, let j6 have his say... He makes a lot of sense and does not constantly fill up the threads with "borrowed" information, as some people do.

As itsnoteasy said. They go between black and blue spot. 15 reds between pink and blue might be a bit of a squeeze

Unless he invented all he says, it's all borrowed stuff as well, granted he's gone and done it, but it's not original material, he would be the first to admit that, as he always gives credit to the people who have taught him things and shown him what he puts up on here.

yes not all, but when you've done the work necessary you can then claim it as your own. then you'd be complimenting and paying tribute, if you so wish.

What's holding you back from breaking higher? Either missing shots you think you should be making, or positional errors making for tougher shots?

Before you do anything, take your cue from the case, chalk it, and play all 15 reds and colours off the black spot. Vary the difficulty of the shots as get get more warmed up. Start with straight in, and gradually ball by ball vary the angle. Then do it again from the other side. By this point you should be warmed up. Then I'd start with something like 4 reds and the black on the table. Position 4 reds in a diamond shape below the pink spot and pot the black off its spot to go into them, then try pot all 4 reds with a black. If you complete it you have a break of 39.

You can do the same with the pink, set the diamond up below the pink and go into them. Same with the blue. Then you can go onto baulk colours. Use the black to go into them then after the reds you have to take a baulk colour and the black stays pocketed. This is a lot tougher than it sounds, but potting a red around the pink spot and having to play for a baulk colour happens a lot in 20 break standard games so its good practice.
