Yes had a week with him at palmers green in 1980 and he also came down to us for 5 days,he really knew his stuff on technique.he was more of a billiard player,we had a game for an hour one day and he knocked in a 174.he wanted me to do my coaching course and in hindsight i wish i did although i did coach a lot of local players that went on to win county and area trophies.the trouble is we are on the wings of the world down here at lands end.getting back to the playing part i think you definitly have to have some natural ability and hunger to improve.a good coach can only look at players individualy as one size does not fit all,in our county league we had a 6ft 8ins player and a 4ft 11ins player and they were not text book by any means but were very good players.i think a lot of it is hard work and trial and error and finding what works best for you which might not work for others, after the game the king and the pawns go back into the same box.if you're down this way give us a shout.j6uk knows his stuff.mdOriginally Posted by itsnoteasy View Postyou lucky lucky git md lol, if you can be bothered i would love to hear about the time you spent with him, i bought his video , after being shown a clip on youtube that was put up on here and loved the way he set about things, i would definitely have gone and got some coaching from him if i played back then.

yep hit the top jaw and you're in your seat J,SOMETHING YOU LEARN QUICK AND IT STICKS,DONE THAT 5 TIMES ON 99,THAT'S THE KIND OF THING THAT MAKES YOU IMPROVE YOUR GAME,MISSING.Originally Posted by j6uk View Posti remember jack saying if your low on the black hit it thicker and high hit it thinner, so basically your more certain to pot the black if you aim for the far jaw. just one of many little gems that stuck
