  • When I first started playing I wish I knew....

With so many members here and regular guests I believe there is so much untapped advice and experience, so every now and again I'm going to start a thread with the start of a sentence for you to complete.

I'm really looking forward to learning from you all.
    Let's get under way with:

What perfume to buy the girl behind the counter as a present, she was lovely ........ apart from that, i wish i had coaching, i'm all self taught by watching the great Alex, i thought moving on the shot was essential

Not to play so negative try pot more. And also dont start cue collecting. Its a pain in the ass and a bigger pain in my wallet.

How to play more naturally and not take the coaching texts too literally...

But then again, it's a learning curve and I don't think I would be able to understand or do the shots I know now even if someone had explained them to me when I first started.

I wish I would have had a copy of Joe Davis' book and a good coach to help show me the proper basics
