"Right, I need to pot this red, and get on the pink here, so that I can get back down to these two reds". Once you've decided that, you decide how you achieve it "I need, stun, with medium power". Then get down, and play that shot just concentrating on the pot because the position should take care of itself.

Do you do that every single time?
No I wish I could say yes but i tend to get away from it sometimes very quickly and as my match goes on it gets worse. I seem to get confused easily. Concentration on all these reds laying around seems to baffle my eyes and my mental decisions.

Looks like we've just found the problem then.

Ah okay I see what you're saying, I find my self in a bad habit of using spin alot..I know I should only hit center but some shots are easier for me to make with spin.

Yes but what kind of practice can actually fix this. I have tried line ups, T Routine Blacks off the spot and the list goes on.

Discipline. Your only objective when you practice is to fully pick a shot before you get down. Don't allow yourself to get down on the shot, until you are fully committed to a shot that you're playing.

The only reason the colours are any different is because you already know the shot, so you already are committed when you get down.

The difference in the balls is that it's down to YOU to pick the shot before you get down. You're allowing yourself to just get down and pot at the moment. You're being lazy. NO LES!!!! Haha. You MUST pick the shot you're playing before you get down.

No joking.....LOL I am serious. I have sparkles of brilliance where I walk around the table making shape like Ronnie but then it us gone again. Sometimes I think my Diabetis has something to do with it, concentration wise. Sugar levels get out of wack and so does my ability to concentrate. I am not making excuses.

                        • Scattered reds routine Les, no colours, just reds scattered about the table, from black area up to but not above the blue spot, that way the table is a bit crowded, and like the straight red line up try and clear them this will help you get used to operating in a bit of traffic. I do know how you feel and it's a normal thing, I'm guessing ,as I'm ok when there are eight or so reds left as I can see what's going on, put all fifteen on and I just can't figure out how to wangle my way around the table, but I just accept that as part of my learning curve.

Well unless you have blasted into the pack, they should be plenty of room ????

It's not so much the room but as Les says it's more confusion as what to do, I don't know if that explains it right either but it's the best I can do with fewer reds it's far easier to plan out the break.

Well in a normal frame there are only 3 to 4 reds to go at, so plenty of room, and then you cannon other one's out when required
