Started playing again in 2014 after 5 year absence was a 30 break player nothing special but enjoyed the game.Have always struggled with my old nemesis the "chicken wing" (same problem for over 20 years, tried to correct it on several occasions without success). Was thinking of buying a 360 Pure Cue and just use that as my cue for a while. Would that iron out the problem?

I'm not really sure what you mean, does your elbow stick out when down on the shot or like Golferson said above, is it ok then comes out during the stroke, I have a 360 and I'm not sure it would correct either of these faults(if the first one is a fault as there are many players play with a sticky out elbow) it's more for over gripping, and dipping the cue or twisting the wrist.
if you are gripping really hard or kind of launching yourself at the shot, it may help ,but it could also frustrate the hell out of you as it's not an easy tool to get the hang of, if it were me I would listen to what J6 says, or practice hard up and down the spots, as he says it's a lot cheaper lol.This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

That to me is an alingment issue , I'm not sure the 360 will help with that, I'm not sure how much this matters as long as you can deliver the cue straight, it's nice to look good and all in line but I wouldn't change it if it affected my cueing. Does having your elbow stick out make the cue be more under your body and restrict your follow through(as Golferson suggested)?This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

The reason why the so called "chicken wing" is a real nemesis for those affected is
that the elbow tend to move from left to right (or reverse) during the stroke and/or backswing.
It is not possible to move the elbow without moving your hand at the same time.
You can try this in front of your computer
As j6uk said, go to the baulk line, take a mirror, find out the right place for your elbow, and practice to keep the elbow still during the backswing and stroke.
