I can imagine. I need to slow down and take a little more time before I get down on my shot and you need to speed up a little so you don't wear down.

If you go to a regular optician you will likely pay around $300 for a set of gas permeable. I go to the University of Waterloo Contact Lens Clinic and get mine for around $120 a set along with a really good eye check. Check out your local universities and see if any of them give optician degrees or have a school of optics and see if they have a contact lens clinic.

Normally I get a student supervised by a doctor and they really do a good job at fitting them as the student wants everything to be perfect.

I think I am in the same boat. When I look back I played well against you on the first game the other day then fell apart. I tried the line up yesterday after practicing just making easy pots and I could not make more then 16 high being 39 then I decided I would try my glasses and I ran 65. Cliff gave me a name of a guy that he goes to and was the eye doctor for the Olympic pool team. I have to find it.

This might not have been such a good recommendation as it appears I just lucked out by location. There are only 2 schools of optometry in Canada, one in Waterloo near me and one in Montreal. So sharkster you are sort of mid-way between the 2 and Les you would have to drive up to Waterloo.

I did buy a set when I first moved back to Canada from a regular optician and that would have been around 2005 and I believe they cost me $180 so god knows what they cost these days.

BUT...they are well worth the investment if your vision needs improving for snooker. Gas permeable are easy to fit and comfortable after about 4 hours of wear initially and then you get to the point where you forget they're in there. Visual acuity is actually better than glasses and you can have them prescribed for 20/20 or even 20/15 if you like.
