Depends solely on what standard you're at. There's certain pots that shouldn't have no excuses whatsoever if you're a decent player, and yes we all over run a ball or over screw a shot etc etc and yes the miss is sometimes inevitable, but amongst the reds for a decent player should rarely include easy missed balls whatever is wrong with you at the time.
Like I say if you're a 40+ breaker then missing easy balls should be quite the norm.

Well I almost took on number two by the horns but decided I better brush n block my table before my JP became a wall ornament. Tried a little routine TD emailed me to get me going and yes it got me going my blood was at boiling point. The routine was run a red then black then the colours in a half hour the best I had was 13 so then I thought maybe I better just practice running the colours and the best was Yellow Green and Briwn once in a half hour. That's it. So I packed it but before that I took the CB set it on the bulk and potted a long blue in the corner through out the Yellow and did it again. So what's wrong I have no idea. Throw balls up and pot them like nothing turn it into a routine a friendly game or a serious match and I look like I have never played before. Grip is good, stroke is good and alignment is good or I could not pot long blues straight in and on angles. Now take a dead in Black screw back for the next red and miss cue and jump the black." Practice to improve not just to waste time "

It can literally be a nightmare, nothing works then everything clicks then it goes to pieces again. Just part and parcel of the mind screwing that the game does.

I wouldn't be out of that snooker room until I could clear the colours. Lock the door and say "I'm not leaving this room until I clear the colours". Then get on with it.WPBSA Level 2 - 1st4Sport Coach

It's six shots. Play them one by one and work out what's going wrong.
Pot the yellow, did you get it right? Have you got the correct angle on the green to get on the brown? Did you cue it smoothly and did it work out exactly as you intended? If yes to all of those questions, move onto the green and do the same thing.
Good luck!WPBSA Level 2 - 1st4Sport Coach

I would say 75% of the shots I landed on the disk. So what's wrong. My mind shuts down and I don't think of a specific spot for the cue ball to finish when Iam playing a Routine, Game or Match.
