Les its great you have your confidence back and you seem potting the colours well, however i think you need to make the shots easier than you are making them, this is why you miss some.

i have seen a few of your attempts and you seem to far away from the green a few times and having to use the rest, which in turn makes the brown more difficult and then it snowballs and gets harder each shot.

although you pot the blue into the top bag on some of your videos , its preferable to get on the blue so you can roll it into the middle to make it easier on the pink. you see the better the position the easier the pot becomes, and this is what you should be focusing on, trying to get ideal position each time.

in a match when you have those difficult shots with all the nerves and the importance of the colours they can easily be missed.

anyway keep the good work and i look forward to your next challenge

          Les:

Try lengthening your feathers somewhat in order to get your final backswing a little longer. When I watched the pots on the yellow and brown where you are perfectly in the frame the final backswing is short (as are the feathers). That said though you are driving the grip hand through to the chest which is something you didn't do before. Remember the feathers will act as a rehearsal for the backswing (but not the delivery).

Also, on a lot of the shots your forearm is still behind the vertical but with taking into account along with driving the hand to the chest means you have more follow-through.

I was particularly impressed with the drive on delivery which is something you have struggled to achieve. I can finally say you are starting to look like an actual snooker player and I think if you can lengthen that final backswing you'll look even better.

I noticed the glasses but I hope you are considering going with the gas permeable contact lenses as they will give you the same sharp image you get with the glasses but without the distortion. That's especially noticeable when you have a long shot as you either have to twist your neck to a very upright position or have the snooker glasses but with the contacts you don't have to put the lower neck under strain and at your age that should be a consideration.

If I only had a right arm that would go straight. Green is my hardest shot. If I leave a perfect short straight in Green I cannot reach it so then I have get the rest out. If I play it wide on the yellow so I can reach then yes it makes the Green much more difficult. But I will keep experimenting with the green position.

Thanks Terry some encouraging words from my coach. Hey guys you read it. TD is tough, hard to get stuff like particularly impressed. So that's a real plus. I will work on the longer feathers and report back. See you in the morning.

              • Just watched your videos, Les. Well done! You're doing great this week. Almost cleared the colours back to back now!

When you've got a tricky shot, just try to stay nice and still.

                Keep going!

I will pay attention to that. Going back down for an hour shortly who knows maybe I will post a double clearance.

it doesn't have to be straight Les, you can leave a 3/4 ball exactly as your starting point on the Yellow, then stun of the cushion for the Brown. experiment with different positions where you can get your hand on the table to pot the green and get position on the Brown. as long as you don't finish high on the Brown you're fine

                          • Not a good night tonight. I guess I am going to have these in my learning curves. Not one total clearance in 45 minutes. I had to stop because my left eye which is my dominate one is very soar hence why I had the glasses on earlier. I think I will take the day off tomorrow and be rested up for the new challenge on Sunday and yes I will also be going over the colour clearance as I am far from confident that I can make it one in 20 attempts. In fact I have added to my challenge. Each week we have a new challenge I have to also complete all earlier ones again. So next weeks challenge plus a total colour clearance.

Don't get disheartened Les. You've done great this week. Last week you hadn't cleared the colours at all, this week you've done it loads of times.

You're always gonna go up and down as you progress and learn.

Out of interest, what were you thinking about as you were down on the shot tonight? Can you remember what you're thinking as you play each shot?

Good question, I was having trouble concentrating on the position of each shot and how to hit it. So I was always struggling to pot a ball because I did not have good position. I need to find out where is the best location to play the green from. I was coming up high and needed the rest in fact even a dead straight green and I need the rest unless it is close to the cushion or I would come up short and have like a quarter ball. Just not good concentration tonight.
