LMAO.... I have some Stripes and Solids so I am all set. The question that was asked up above average break in a game mine is under 20 but I have this feeling that is about to change the more I work on Teds challenges.

No way, I am going to continue to work hard on my Snooker game. A month ago I could not pot two reds and two blacks and now I am doing 4 reds blacks 2-5 times so what Ted has given me is working. Maybe I will surprise myself next time I have a match. MAYBE.

Are you talking just 15 reds setup between Black n Blue?

Just a note for you to keep in mind. No matter what technique a player uses as long as it's reasonably close to normal that player's brain will learn to function with that technique and you will improve. The trick is to get a technique where you deliver the cue consistently straight and you will improve a lot quicker. This is why I've been onto you regarding a longer backswing and getting the forearm vertical at address.

I'll bet you haven't used my suggestion regarding the pencil marks and the tape, have you?

Yes I have but have not had much time with it. Don't need the pencil marks as I measured from the tip and I have two chevrons at the exact spot. Just tape on grip. I will post a video this afternoon. You will see.

The pencil lines should be there as they focus your mind, something the chevrons by themselves will not do. You need to break a bad habit and in order to do that you need to have something definitive to focus your mind on. The points of the chevrons are not really a defined point you can clearly see when in the address position.

I can't figure out why you are not doing better, I would like to see you do a few scattered red videos so that all the colours go to begin with, so no reds blocking paths ,just to see where it goes wrong, because I can't see any reason why you wouldn't stick sixties and seventies and the odd high one in ,because I can, and you are easily at my standard so there must be something minor holding you back. I'm guessing it must be cue ball positioning( that's what normally mucks m
ine up). It certainly can't be missing pots. Maybe you spend too long on routines? i think I did, so learned the knack of them but didn't learn how to play snooker if that makes sense?
Well it baffles me too, my average break is mid 20s . With the odd 30 break from Time to time. I think my problem is cueball position , although in the practice routine it seems good, there is more space and after practicing for a while you can get use to it.
I think another issue is the players I play against are not high standard and I find most frames colours are either blocked or off spots. Even reds on cushions ...etc. which makes it difficult to get any big breaks.
Unfortunately I don't have enough good players to play against I only get the opportunity once in a while if I go upto the snooker academy in Sheffield .

I think this is what I should do really, I am a bit apprehensive asking good players to play me because it's a mismatch, but I think I should just bite the bullet and ask.

I'll scatter a few reds tonight and see if I can take a video and upload it.

                          • I know what you mean about asking, I just waited until they came to me to be honest, and that didn't happen untill I got to a standard where I could at least make a twenty to thirty. I think they didn't want to play someone who would mess the table up every frame ,could be wrong just my impression. Could have been because I just kept myself to myself and it wasn't until I played league snooker and got to know them.
I played an ex county champ today, got my bum well and truly spanked, even frames where I got in and got my usual breaks he would clear up behind me, I will have been lucky if I won two out of ten, but he's a right good fella and one hell of a player, so I got an education for free
The messy table part is way above my standard aswell, I'm ok round the black spot, I'm ok when half the Reds are gone and the space is there, but when I play good players and looks like a scrappy frame, then within half a dozen shots they have tidied the table and are away, it's great to see, but way beyond me just now.

Yeah , am like that too keep myself to myself, and in a way it might be my fault, when I first started going there those who didn't know me would ask if I wanted a game, however I would turn them down as I was too embarrassed to play them especially when I couldn't make a 20 break.
I know quite a lot of them now. Some top amateurs and pros. I'd never ask a pro but some of the amateurs maybe. Last week one ask me for a game and we played 4 frames ended up 2-2 wasn't enough time for a decider , however to be fair I dint give him many chances and when I missed not much was left on.

It's good to play these players as we learn so much
